Class of 2016

Nominations for the class of 2016 are now being accepted. Nominations will be accepted until November 14, 2016. Hall of selections will be made and inductees will be notified on November, 18, 2016. New Hall of Famers will be formally inducted into the Falcons Athletics Hall of Fame at the Falcons Athletics Golf Outing that will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Lake Worth Golf Club. Guidelines for Nomination and Election


It is the purpose of the Forest Hill High School Sports Hall of Fame to recognize and honor those FHHS athletes, coaches, administrators and supporters who excelled in their respective sports or coaching/support roles and who helped to bring honor, recognition, and excellence to FHHS by their conduct both on and off the field, or court of competition.

Nomination Process

  • Any member of the community may nominate a candidate for Hall of Fame membership, including self-nominations.
  • Formal nominations shall be made using the nomination for prescribed for such purpose and made available to the public by the athletics department at Forest Hill High School.
  • Applications are to remain confidential to be shared among the members of the board only.
  • Information relating to nominee’s career statistics, records, achievements, etc. must be supported by accompanying documentation or sources cited so that the information may be verified.
  • The athletics director must receive nominations forms by Monday, November14, 2016.
  • The selection inductees will be notified by Friday, November 18, 2016.
  • Inductees will be honored at the Falcons Hall of Fame Golf Outing on December 10, 2016 at Lake Worth Golf Club.

Criteria for Selections of Athletes

  1. To be eligible, it must be at least 5 years since the candidate graduated from Forest Hill High School
  2. The athlete must have attended FHCHS for a minimum of two years and be a graduate of FHCHS
  3. The athlete must have conducted himself/herself in such a way as to reflect honor on the school and must have exhibited those qualities of character and standards are consistent with their status as a role model to the community. Forest Hill Community High School reserves the right to remove any individual from the Hall of Fame for personal conduct, which reflects discredit upon the school.
  4. The committee shall consider the following criteria for selection purposes:
  • Played on a District or Conference Championship Team
  • Played in a State Tournament as an individual (qualifier) or was on a team that qualified for State competition (Relay teams in Track and Field are included within this criteria and will be inducted as a group not individually)
  • Earned a letter in more than one sport or lettered at least twice in a sport
  • Earned a Championship title in an individual sport
  • Voted a MVP award winner in a selected sport
  • Named to an All-State, All-Area, All-Conference team
  • Received a news media recognition award
  • Identified as a scoring champion, statistical leader, etc.
  • State Tournament record hold or school record holder
  • AP or coaches 1st team, 2nd team, 3rd team, or Honorable Mention All-State
  • Division 1 Athletic Scholarship Recipients.

Criteria for Selections for Coaches

  1. The individual must have coached a varsity team at Forest Hill High School for a minimum of five years.
  2. The Hall of Fame Selection Committee will give strong consideration to coaches exhibiting outstanding achievement in two or more of the categories below:

  • District or Conference Championship
  • Sectional, Regional, Semi-State Championships
  • Coach of the Year honors by state recognized coaching organizations or local media groups
  • Career winning percentage at FHCHS
  • Athletic success by individuals coached
  • Years of coaching service at FHCHS
  • Leadership roles in national/state coaching associations
  • Member of the coaching staff of a state recognized All-Star team

Contributor’s Criteria for Induction:

  1. Eligibility of outstanding contributions will be at the sole discretion of the selection committee.
  2. Candidates must have made outstanding contributions or offered extraordinary services to the student/athlete and the athletics programs at Forest Hill Community High School.
  3. Candidates need to be graduates of Forest Hill Community High School to be eligible for induction.

The Forest Hill High School Sports Hall of Fame is now accepting nominations for its Class of 2016. Nominations of inductees may be nominated in 3 categories:

  1. Athlete: A former high school athlete whose accomplishments as a high school athlete were extraordinary. An athlete shall have completed high school at least 5 years prior to being eligible for nomination.
  2. Coach: A former coach whose accomplishments as a high school coach merit recognition, who has been inactive as a coach for a minimum of 3 years.
  3. Contributor: An individual who has made outstanding contributions to athletics in some capacity other than athlete or coach. Such as areas including athletic administration, sports medicine, sports media, or financial support.

Requirements for nominees also will be judged on their significant to athletics at FHHS. The official nomination form approved by the Selection Committee must be completed and submitted at the place and time to be designated.

Any person who is properly nominated but not selected to the FHHS Sports Hall of Fame shall remain on the list of eligible nominees for 5 years without having to be re-nominated each year. The Selection Committee will select inductees into the Hall of fame. The number of inductees to be selected for the inaugural class is undetermined at this time.

Forest Hill High School has a rich tradition of sports. Many individuals have made extraordinary contributions and have superb accomplishments. The FHHS Sports Hall of Fame honors these contributions and accomplishments.
