Falcons Rout Lions on the Road

Boca Raton, FL- Riding the wave of a 4-game winning streak to start the season, the Falcons varsity boys’ basketball team swooped into Olympic Heights on Tuesday night and captured a dominating 76-45 district win on the road. The Falcons dynamic duo of seniors Tristan Stephens and Phillip Lyttle once again led the Falcons scoring and defensive attack. Lyttle finished the game with a double-double with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 assists. Stephens dominated the post all night to lead all scorers in the game with 18 points to go along with 13 points and 3 assists.

After the game, Coach Watson had plenty of good things to say about the Falcons fans who traveled to Boca to catch the game, as he was running laps in the Olympic Heights parking in one of his trademark sweat suits. “They (Falcons fans) are good people. I like those guys”, Watson said.

Assistant coach Clayton Williams believes, “this team is going to rely on seniors to have a successful season moving forward”. This was very evident in the strong play of the two stars Stephens and Lyttle, but senior role players Makhi Millender and Jalen Jackson have also chipped in solid performances during the Falcons 5-game winning streak.

The Falcons are now 5-0 overall and 2-0 in district play. Falcons Madness will be back at The Hill on Friday, December 22 against John I. Leonard for a Triple Header with the 9th grade game starting at 4:30 followed by junior varsity at 6:00 and varsity at 7:00 pm.
